ENTERTAINMENTS.

LEONIITAS VAUDEVILLE COMPANY. to-night. in conjunction with het pictures tonight Professor Leonitas and Chung Ling Ham will give an entertainment.. Of a recent performance in Rotorua the local paper says :— -There was a good attendance m the King’s Theatre last night, when Professor Lepnitas and his vaudeville company opened a two-night season. The Professor showed himself an.effective entertainer, gave a successful display of thought leading on familiar lines, and proved that he has ability as a reciter. His principal business, however, is that, of a hypnotist, in which capacity he gave an interesting little address, and then, with the assistance of naif a dozen young fellows as “subjects,” roused a great deal of hilarity among the audience, who laughed uproariously at the antics the ‘subjects’ played while ‘under the influence. A Chinaman, Chung Ling Ham, announced as ‘The Oriental Wonderman,’ did a number of conjuring tricks, some by sleight of hand, others more or less of p. mechanical character, and also entertained the audience by freeing himself when handcuffed and tied up in a long sack.”
