« IVAIMABIE-KAIMANAWA AREA. WORK TO BE PROCEEDED WITH. With reference to the representations made by the chairman of the Ohinemuri County Council (Mr A. R. Robinson) to the Minister of Public Works for the completion of the in-te’-ior drainage of the Waimarie-Kai-manawa area, Mr Rpbinson has now received advice from the Public Works Department that it is prepared to proceed with the major portion of the scheme for drainage, provided that the settlers in the area concerned place no liability on the depart meat for bridges over the drains. Mr Robinson is to be congratulated on his successful efforts in having this necessary work carried out. The -completion of the scheme will mean a great deal, to the settlers within the area, as much valuable land will be saved from floods and rendered workable.
