HOSPITAL FOR PAEROA.

BOARD PREPARED TO BUILD. AWAITING COURT’S ORDER. At the meeting of the Chamber nf Commerce on Tuesday night last Mi Buchanan inquired as to wliat the position was in regard to the establishment of a public hospital in Paerca, and what steps had. been taken by the trustees of the hospital fund in connection with the matter. The president informed the Chamber that he had been notified by Mr Brenan, the Borough representative on the Thames Hospital Board* that the Board was now prepared to proceed with the erection of the maternity home and accident ward as soon, as the property and fund were vested by the trustees in the Board. Accordingly, a scheme of distribution in terms of part iii' of “The Religious, Charitable, and Educational Trusts Act, 1908,” had been prepared and submitted to the Attorney General for approval, together with the other documents in connection with the fund. The Attorney-General had approved of the proposed scheme, and signified his assent to it in writing. The scheme as approved, with the was now before tiie Supreme Court at Auckland for an order to be made giving effect to it. The Grows Solicitor had been instructed to appear to represent the Attorney-Gen-eral, and the matter was now. only awaiting a fixture to be made by the Court, of a date on which it could be dealt with, in the scheme submitted ample provision had been made safeguarding local interests* as it provided that, in the event of the hospital being at’ any time closed or its use as a hospital discontinued all land ! and buildings acquired cut of the trust fund were to become vested in the Paeroa Borough Council, upon the same trusts and for the same purposes as they were now held nv the present trustees. Mr Buchanan and other members expressed their pleasure in the satisfactory position of the matter and t,he progress that had been made.
