PAEROA RUGBY UNION. | MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The weekly meeting -of the Paeral Rugby Union ■ was held last night ht 8 o’clock, when there were present: Messrs J. Walmsley (chairman), C. Potter, G. Jenkinson, B. Neil, E Moore, W. Power, H. M. Shand, and 1 the secretary. A letter was received from the Rotorua Rugby Union asking for the match aaginst Paeroa to be played at Rotorua on July 28. It was decided . tint this date was not suitable, and the secretary was instructed to write and suggest August 25 or September 15. Clearances were refused from Rotorua for five Suburbs players. The notice of motion given by .W, Power to the effect that the motion on the books instructing the secretary to withdraw our challenge for the’ Peace Cup be rescinded was carried* and Mr Shand moved that our chat-1 ' lenge with Cambridge be gone ■on with, the secretary to obtain information as to when the match was likely to be played. The action of the chairman and' secretary in arranging a war memorial match for Saturday next was approved, and it was decided to postpone Charity Saturday to a later date. The Power Board representatives stated that they were unable to match a team against the Public Works on Saturday, so it was decided that the curtain-raiser be Public Works v. Junior Representatives, A sub-committee, consisting of the chairman, secretary, and Mr Shand, was elected to go into the question of boundaries and prepare a full report for a general meeting. It was suggested that the Piako “B” v. Paeroa “B” representative match, postponed from last Saturday, be played on Charity Saturday. rhe following players were registered : West Club, S. Samson, K. DHunkin (juniors). Accounts to the amount of £1 10swere passed for payment. It was decided to utilise the Drill .. Shed for representative every Wednesday and Friday night at 7.30 o’clock, training to commence next Wednesday night. The following social committee was elected: I. Poland, J. Treanor, L Smith, D. Haskell, K. Slyfleld, F. W. Pitts, D. Smith, L. Shaw, and the secretary. SATURDAYS MATCHES.
