.’4 ; ■/ / Prior to the meeting of tfie Borough Council last evening His Worship the' Meyor moved that the Council tenders with all respect Its sincere sympathy to Cr. Brenan in the irreparable loss he has suffered by the Meath of his good mother, who was. a lady rightly held in the highest esiteem by all the people of the district.. The Council's sincere sympathy was also tendered to Mr J. Brenan, Miss Brenan, and the members of the family of the late Mrs Brenan. His Worship said that he knew he voiced the Council’s deepest feelings in saying that they hope J that He in whose hands are the issues of life and death will comfort them in this season of great sorrow. The motion was carried by the Council standing in silence. The Clerkwas instructed to convey the councillors’ sentiments to their colleague, his father, and sister. The meeting of the Paeroa Golf Club, which was tp have been held on Tuesday evening, lapsed for want of a quorum. The adjourned meeting is advertised- for Saturday next in the Soldiers’ Club, when a full attendance i,s requested. The Finance Committee reported at the Paeroa Borough Council meeting last night that the revenue during the month amounted to £B4l 14s 8d and expendarturje to £460 15s 10d. The balance to the credit of the District Fund account at July 10, 1923, amounted to £1348 5s 6d. suppliers of the N.Z. Co-opera-tive Dairy Co., Ltd., will be pleased to learn that the company is paying out Is 4d per lb for first-grade butterfat for butter-making for the month of June, and also for first-grade but-ter-fat for cheese-making. The super-, fine premium is per lb, and direct delivery premium %d per lb butterfat.
A't the Borough Council meeting last night His Worship the Mayor said that Cr. Brenan. the borough’s representative on the Thames Hospital Board, had succeeded in having the headquarters of the district nurse transferred from Thames to Paeroa, povided that suitable accommodation could be found for her. The object in mentioning Ithe matter wag to give it publicity, so that any person, who had suitable accommodation would come forward.
