DISTRICT NEWS.
HUIRAU ROAD. VALEDICTORY. A very pleasant musical evening was spent at the residence pf Mr and Mrs Creswell when their friends assembled <to wish them good-bye prior to their leaving the district. Songswere rendered by Miss McCoid andMrs Zeigler, Messrs;Robinson, Oliver, Henwood, and W. Dally; duets by Mrs Newman and Mr Henwood, Mrs H ; Brown (piano) and Mr Creswell (cornet,), and the Dally brothers? Mrs H. Brown and W. Dally played the accompaniments. On behalf of the suppliers of the H.iirau Road cheese factory Mr E. Dally presented Mr; and Mrs Creswell with a travelling rug and a set’ of stainless knives. Mr Creswell with a few well-chosen remarks thanked the . suppliers for their, gifts.'• After a dainty supper was served by the ladies the . function was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” in the wee sma’ hours of morn. < - ■Mr Creswell .leaves early in the week to take up his duties of manager at the Rukuhia cheese factory, near Hamilton.
