OBITUARY.

MRS. J. BRENAN. The death of Mrs Amy Frederica Brenan, wife of Mr Joseph Brenan, Paeroa, occurred at the Huia Private Hc.'-pital, Auckland, early on Wednesday morning. The late Mrs Brenan had been in ill-health for years, and had recently undergone a serious operation, from which she did not recover. The deceased, who was a daughter of Mr E. H. Hadrill, of Auckland, was born in England, and came to New Zealand ait the age of six years. She was married about forty years ago, and for the past thirty years ha<j lived continuously in Paeroa, where her quiet, unassuming demeanour and charitable disposition had won her a host of friends. Prior to ill-health the late Mrs Brenan was a keen and enthusiastic worker in the various guilds of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. The surviving members of the family to mourn her loss are her husband, one son, Mr P, E. Brenan, one daughter, Miss Irene Brenan, and a grandson. The youngest son, Lyndon, was killed in France during the late war. The funeral was held in Auckland yesterday.

Mrs Brenan was a good wife and a devoted mother, and was not only loved by her own family,i but held the respect and affection of a very large number of people. The sincerest sympathy is extended to the husband and family in their great sorrow.
