CENTRAL THEATRE PICTURES-TO-NIGHT. THE GALLOPING KID. ‘‘The Galloping Kid,” Hoot Gibson’s latest starring vehicle, is the principal attraction for to-night. This is a different sort of a western, inasmuch as it depicts the wanderings and ramblings of a' drifting cowboy, whose refreshing oqtlook upon life keeps him afloat through all his wanderings like a cork, in a raging sea. SATURDAY NIGHT. MY BOY. Little Jackie Coogan, the boy wonder of the film world, the loveable little chap who has won the hearts of every person-in the country through his work in “The Kid” and “Peck’s Bad Boy,” is the star of “My Boy,” which is to be screened to-morrow night. The story of “My Boy” was written especially for Jackie, and hi it he 13 able to exercise to the full his rare pantomimic genius. The picture will draw laughter—and tears —and you will want to see it more than once. It is that type of picture. SCANDAL. TO TUESDAY NEXT. Probably no play of the past decade has created so "much talk as Cosmo Hamilton’s brilliant and daring comedy “ Scandal,” and its- presentation at the Central' Theatre on July 3rd has been loked forward to by Paeroa playgoers. The story of “ scandal ” deals with a young society butterfly, bored with the daily routine of society rounds, who longed to break away from family tradition and taste life in Bohemia. Her midnight visits to a famous artist and the unexpected denouncement when the family confront her is a story that the author has written with a master hand. Already favourably known to the public by reason of the successful novel, the stage version presents living characters who emphasise the many delightful comedy touches. A new leading lady in Miss Doris Duane is to be introduced. Miss Duane is a young actress cf the modern school who has had a rapid rise to the stellar rank. The box plan is open' at, Flatt’s.
