WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co'£>per, ative Auctioneering Company report:— BeL—The market'for beef is hardening fast with supplies much below normal. Present, values at the yards are : Ox beef 21s to 23s 6d ; cow beef, 17s to 19s. Mutt,on still maintains its ground and good competition exists in all centijgs. Store Cattle..—A general forward movement has set in, and considerable briskness is apparent. Good bullocks are firming rapidly, and the, same may be said of younger steers. Heifers, however,, have not shared in the advance to a great extent, with the exception of calves from high producing dairies. These continue to Command good competition. Store Sheep.—The enquiry continues good, but sheep of this class seem scarcer this year than on anv previous occasion. Dairy Cattle. —Little difficulty has been experienced in disposing of high producing herds, and at all clearing sales of such good results have been obtained. The demand for inferior or even mediocre herds is on the contrary weaker than ever. Good heifers still draw fair competition, although private enquiry is not strong. Pigs. l —Supplies are shortening visibly, and everywhere the tendency in value is to advance.

HAMILTON STOCK SALE, At Hamilton sale on Tuesday last we had a good yarding of all classes of stock, and have to report a satisfactory clearance? Sheep were perhaps a little easier than at recent sales, and in consequence negotiation under the hammer did not in all cases meet with success! A line of fat wethers from the West, Coast was quitted at 325. A line of empty ewes failed to reach the owner’s valuation. Competition for beef was strung and well maintained notwithstanding the fact, that the entry was large.
