HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company reports as follows : At Hamilton on Tuesday last the yarding of all classes of stock was again small, but competition ruled free. A line of extra heavy ewes were the only sheep penned. These were passed at auction, but sold ultimately at from 33s to 85s. The beeffe pens contained mostly plain quality cattle,, a few good cows realising £5, medium sorts £3 to £4 7s. A line of 4-year forward steers sold at. from £3 12s 6d for Jersey calves, to £4 12s for better quality. Store cattle we only represented by small lots. Heifer calves from 20s to 255. Springers and dairy cattle were quiet. Best Shorthorn heifer,s made to £6 15s, cows £4 to £6 ss. Pigs declined considerably in numbers, but showed improvement in value for all classes. Baconers especially wer,e in short, supply, and sold from £3 6s to. £4 6s. Porkers drew good' bidding. Wellfinished sorts made from £2 5s to £3, lighter from 31s to £2 2s 6d. Store pigs were in strong demand, slips making from 18s 6d to 23s 6d. No weaners were penned.
