MONTHLY STATEMENTS. MANAGER’S REPORT. The following report was submitted to the Thames Valley Electric Power Board at its last meeting by the manager:— Debentures.—The debentures for the £lOO,OOO advance from the A.M.P. Society and the Bank of New Zealand have been signed and sealed and are now being forwarded.
Gangs.—During the month* thirec extra ’gangs have been arranged for, two of which are now operating and the third gang should make a start in the Okauia district next week. The demand for power for milking purposes is very heavy, and it may be advisable to engage further gangs before the milking season starts. Damaging Insulators.—Further replacement of insulatorjs has taken place duting the month owing to persons throwing stones. I would suggest that notices be issued pointing out the dangers and the penalties. Time Switches.—Time switches are now being installed at Walton, Tirau, Waharoa, and Hinuera.
Stoppages.—This month has been the best experienced during the year, the lines being now patrplled weekly and any defects immediately attended to. The main trouble has been overloading of transformers. The position with regard to transformers is now relieved, owing to small transformers being replaced with larger ones from the Waiwera shipment. Wiie. —it has been necessary to call tenders for coppeir ’wire during the month. REPORT. The engineers’ report was as follows :— Awaiti Road.—The 11,000-volt wiring was completed on the 10th inst., and the low tension is well in hand. Awaiti West Road.—The 11,000 l -volt and low tension wiring was completed on the 14th inst. Kopu-Kopuarahi—Poling of the 11, • 000-volt line was completed on fhe 15th inst. Orongo Settlement Rbad. —Polling of the 11,000-volt line was completed on the 14th inst. Turua-Qrongo.—The wiring of this line was commenced on the 18th inst. As soon as this wiring is completed the gang will proceed with the wiring of the Kopu-Kopuarahi and Orongo Settlement roads. . Ngataipua Road.I—Pole 1 —Pole erection is now proceeding. Puke-Ngatea.—A start has been made on the wiping of the high tension telephone line. During the month lightning arrestors have been installed in the following positions on the 11,000-volt lines: Wharepoa Road, Townsend Read Matatoki Road, Netherton Ferry Road, Cadman’s Road, Awaiti and Awaiti West Roads. Morrinsville-Tahuna Main Line.— The wiring of the 11,0'00-volt circuit to Maungateparu will be completed by the end of the month. Hangawera Road. —All consumers on this road were connected up by the 10th inst. Maungateparu-Tauhei Road. —About 2*/2 miles of high tension pole line has been erected, and the poles should be through to Tauhei early next month. Ngarua Road.— A! wiiring gang has been started on this road to connect up consumers. Two transformer structures have been erected. Walton-Hamilton Road. —High and low tension wiring and all services have been completed to a mile beyond Harris’ comer. Owing to the wet weather experienced during the period work has been retarded and carting in some cases has been very difficult.
