ROADING. The work of laying down the fivechain experimental strip of bitumen road in Turua township was completed on Wednesday afternoon. The work on the main street, after being held up by the wet weather, is now proceeding apace. When the road is completed it will have an even fall from the concrete strip to the concrete gutter, which is to be laid down. The Board has decided that a concrete kerb and gutter would be cheapen than a wooden kerb, and very much better. The footpath will then be brought up level. But for the wet weather delaying the completion of the work longer than it was possible to retain the tar sprayers the footpath may have been asphalted.
