“Some cyclists seem to be under the impression that they have tjie legal r.ight to stick to the concrete i.i Ormond Road, even when being overtaken by faster traffic,’’ said Councillor T. Todd at a recent meeting of the Borough Council (reports the Gisborne “Times”). “The law says that one must give way to faster traffic coming behind, but in practice the cyclists doidt do it; When practice and law are af, variance both are in danger.” Councillor Hill: “I think the cyclists should have the right of the road.’ ’ Councillor Todd: “That is not the law. If I. were going along the road in my Ford and were overtaken by a Rolls-Royce T should have to give it the right-of-way.”
