HAURAKI PLAINS COUNCIL. OLD MEMBERS' RETURNED. The poll for • the election of coun- , cillors for four ridings of the Hauraki Plains County was held on Wednes- x day in unfavourable tions, and resulted in the return of the sitting members. In the other ridings the sitting members were returned unopposed, except in Kerepeehi, where Mr A. Chatfield did not seek re-election. Mln J. H. Nicholson was nominated for that riding, and Mr W. Madgwick for the newly-creat-ed Turua riding. The following is the result of the poll:— . Waitaliaruru:—C. W. Harris 66, C. A, Hayward 10. Pipiroa.—C. W. Parfitt 70, E. C. M>rshall 28, J. W. Neate 15. Horahia.—W. G. Hayward 61, W. McDuff 30.' Netherton.—H. J. Hare 46, F. T. VJohnson 44. The new council will therefore be Crs. J. C, Miller,> J. F. Mayn, T. McLoughlin, J. H. Nicholson, W. Madgwick. C. W. Harris, C. W. Parfitt, W. G. Hayward, and H. J. Hare. HOSPITAL BOARD POLL. Very little interest was taken in the poll to elect three representatives ■on the Thames Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. The following is the result:— W. E. Hale 192, G. Death 180, H. L. Berney 165, Hallyburton Johnstone 107, A. Rogers 107. Messrs Hale, Death, and Jbhnstone were the sitting members.

OHINEMURI COUNTY. KARANGAHAKE RIDING. Considerable interest was taken in the election of one representative for Karangahake riding on the Ohinemuri County Council. The" poll was taken in the Miners’ Union Hall at Karangahake on Wednesday. Out of a total number pf 126 ratepayers who were eligible to vote some 77 exer-.. ciseS' their privilege.
