The Board could not arrange for a permanent man at Turua at present, but was endeavouring to arrange for a continuous telephone service at Ngatea. A high tension phone between Turua and Ngatea was also being established, and this should relieve any delay in breakdowns. —Received. Mr C. Bedford waited upon the association in regard to the Power Board’s charges, and the matter was discussed at length in committee. INSPECTOR’S TELEPHONE. Mr T. W. Mr McMillan said that as he had joined up with other forces he thought that it would give the association a freer hand if he resigned from the chairmanship. The association was formed with the object of pointing out the errors of local bodies, and he thought it right that he should not now take an active pare. Mr Madgwick said that his position was similar, and that, he felt the same, so would resign from the executive. It was pointed out that there was only one more meeting before the annual meeting, when officers were elected, whereupon both gentlemen agreed to defer their action. It was suggested that, a smoke concert be held after the annual meeting. Details would be arranged at the next monthly meeting. . Mr Madgwick said he wished to congratulate Mr McMillan on the good fight he had. put up in the re - cent Harbour Board elections. Mr McMillan, in replying, said t,hat it was a policy fight, and he happened to back the right horse.
