GOLF.
Thef / Hanna Shields competition was played on Wednesday last, over a course of nine holes. Quite a numTier of players were present and competed, and, though a late start was made, the short round was completed just before dusk. The winners were, Mrs E. Edwards and Dales. Interest is again revived in this competition, the holders having already received a challenge for their possession. The match on Saturday—the first round of the Club Handicap—was marred somewhat by the inclemency of tne elements late in the afternoon. Hi most cases the games were abandoned after a thorough ducking. On Saturday next the usual month - ly medal will be played for over 18 holes, players to arrange their own partners. LADIES. The first, round of the Club Handicap was played last Saturday. Cards returned were: Miss F. .Walmsley 102—21—81, Miss L. Thorp 117—29— 88, Mrs Silcock 118—25—93,. Mrs Budd 121—28—93, Miss L. Buchanan 129 —32 —97, Miss I. Taylor 128 —32— 106, Mrs F. Hubbard 153—36—117. . Next Saturday will be the monthlymedal round of 18 holes. Own partners to be arranged.
