DEFINITE ACTION WANTED. At the last meeting of the Piako County Council a deputation comprising the chairman of the Hauraki Plains County Council and Crs. May:) and McLoughlin was present, and spoke in- regard to the proposed bridge over, the Piako River midway between Tahuna and Patetonga and the proposed deviation of the TabunaPatetonga road. This work would be the means of bringing the two districts closer together, and the road would be a direct and shorter, route to Auckland, so might, when the Main Highways Bill came into force, be reckoned a principal thoroughfare. The deputation asked that something binding he put on record by the present county councils concerned in order that there would be no fear of the incoming councils turning the matter down. The Piako Council finally decided that instructions be given the solicitor to bring the matter to finality before the sitting councils go out of office. -
