NGATEA. PLAINS TENNIS ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Hauraki Plains Tennis Association was held at Ngatea on Thursday. Mr D. G. McMillan presided, and there were present : Messrs Devereaux (Kerepeehi), C. Stretton (Waitakaruru), W. Wylde (Ngatea), and A. Vowles (Hopai), secretary. Mr Stretton moved that in the next round the system adopted by the N.Z. Tennis Association be adopted. He pointed out that as there were 21 players one man would draw a bye in every round and the winner of the last round would have to meet a fresh man. SCHOOL PICNIC. A school picnic was held tn Hunter’s paddock on, Friday, the 6th inst. The weather was perfect, and the large attendance of about 150 spectators, including parents and friends of the school children, witnessed a most interesting sports meeting. Presentations were made" by th? chairman of the school committee, Mr 3,7. Mayn, to R. Thompson, for good attendance, and G. Tapper and L. Hunter, who won “firsts” in the Waikato Show for drawing.
