A wide range of illustrations is comprised in this week’s issue of (the “N.z. Sporting and Dramatic Review,” covering all’that is interesting in Up-to-date events. Particular prominence is given the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting meeting at Christchurch, which is represented in a comprehensive series of snapshots of the principal events in progress, also of patrons on the lawn. The Canterbury Jockey Club’s carnival at Riccarton is also the subject of a fine set* showing the winners. The opening day of the Avondale Jockey Club’s meeting is depicted in photographs of starts and finishes of the main events. The centre pages are devoted to animated pictures showing the building of old Paris to produce a gigantic film, “Twenty Years After,” French military fantasy at Vincennes, and picturesque fete at Tarare. Notable sporting events in England, including boxing, sprinting, and American fashion houses are embodied in attractive display that will strike the feminine eye.
