WINTER GRADING.
DAIRY COMPANY’S DECISION. The directors of the N.Z. Co-opera-tive Dairy Company Ltd. have decided to continue the operation of the company’s grading system throughout the winter months, and not terminate it at the end of March, as has been the practice in the past. This will mean that suppliers will be able to receive the %d premium for superfine right throughout the year. This premium was originally adopted for the export season of August to March to encourage the supply of a superfine article, but the expansion of dairying has been so great that even in what were formerly winter months so much butter is made that export must be continued, and consequently the grading system will operate the year round. It has also been decided that the winter months of May, June, and July shall be separated from the rest of the year, and special accounts kept so that the actual return for the produce supplied in those months may no paid out to the suppliers who made it. This will have the effect of fully conpensatlng those who engaged in winter dairying, as winter prices generally average better than summer prices.
