SETTLER’S LEG BROKEN.

KICKED BY DRAUGHT HORSE. Yesterday morning Mr J. Irwin, of Komata North, was kicked by a. horse, sustaining a fracture of the left leg, just above the knee. It appears that Mr Irwin walked up to a draught horse with the intention of placing a headstall on the animal, when it turned and lashed out. inflicting the injury slated. Dr. Todd, of Paeroa, was summoned, and arrived promptly on the scene. The leg was provisionally set, and the um fortunate sufferer was conveyed to the Thames Hospital. The many friends of Mr Irwin were sorry to hear of his accident, and hopes are expressed for Ids speedy recovery.
