The many friends of Mr Sam. Holes will be pleased to learn that, according to a letter received on Saturday, he is making satisfactory progress toward recovery. Mr Arch. White, who was a resident of this district for many years, has now settled near Waiuku, having purchased a farm at Glenbrook. On Friday morning, befoie klr Justice Stringer, Mr Eric Ainsley Porritt was adinitted as a solicitor, on the application of Mr W. R. Tuck, of Auckland.
