Messrs Dalgety and Co. wrote stat-; ing that they had definitely decided, to cancel the lease of the yards at the end of June, and intimating that, the society was at liberty to negotiate? with any other firm of auctioneers if it chose.. They reserved ‘he right io hold a sale in June if they desired. Mr Buchanan said that he had been approached by members of-the Farm,-, ers’ Auctioneering Co. with reference , to the sale of pedigree stock, which •- the Jersey Breeders’ Club bad decided upon. He thought the association should endeavour to lease the yards to an auctioneering firm, v ith a proviso that at least four sales a year,? exclusive of special sales, be On his motion, seconded by Mr Hamilton, it was decided to write to the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co. asking them to tender a price for lease of ■ the yards for a term of two years with a condition for holding at least ? four sales.

The Jersey Breeders’ Club wrote asking for the use of the yards for „ the pedigree sale in September. Mr Buchanan mentioned that the club had been induced to hold a sale . in Paeroa owing to the fact that a ' great many pedigree animals went to the pedigree sale at Hamilton from, this district and a great many were' purchased by farmers of this district and had to be trucked back to Paeroa. The members of the club -had decided ■not to make any private sales after May, and they thought this woUId help the sale. Mr Hubbard thought that members of the association should help the Jersey Club as much as possible/ - The coming sale would be an important thing for the district, and should be encouraged. It was resolved to reply to the club stating that the association was endeavouring to make arrangements for leasing the yards, but in the event of this not being done the club could have the free use of the yards.
