FILM ADVERTISING.
COMPANY’S PROPOSAL. SUPPORTED BY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE; At the meeting of the Chamber of Commerce last evening Mr N. S. Cassrels, representing the Kinematographs, Ltd., was present and gave details of the cost of producing films. He urged the chamber to take up the matter of advertising the district through picture films. His company was prepared to come into the district and take films, which would be shown throughout the British Isles, and especially at the British Exhibition next year, . He considered that by bringing the resources of t(ie district before outsiders it would encourage the best type of immigrants to the country. A 1000 ft length of film, embodying farming and industrial matters could be produced for about £220. The firm he represented was equipped with the latest apparatus and a qualified staff, and would guarantee satisfaction. If the matter of advertising the district appealed to the chamber he hoped that it would lend i ts hand in furthering (he object. He felt sure it would benefit the town of Paeroa. The president thought that it was a good idea if it could be worked.
A member thought that the chamber could only further the movement. The company would have tc make its own financial arrangements. ■Mr E. Edwards thought that it would be a good means of advertising the district, and moved that the chamber as a body strongly support the proposal and recommend the company to make a canvass of the district, feeling that they would receive a generous support. This was seconded by Mr de Castro and carried.
