PERSONAL.

• e The prime Minister, Mr W. FMassey, accompanied by his private secretary, was in Paeroa on Saturday. He attended the Ohinemuri Jockey Club’s race meeting in the afternooq, and was welcomed by the Club’s officials and the Mayor. Mr Massey returned by car to Te Aroha after the last race.

Sir Joseph and Lady Ward, accompanied by Mr W. Noton, LiberalLabour organiser, arrived in Paeroa from Tauranga on - Saturday afternoon. The party attended the race meeting and witnessed a couple of races and spent a pleasant two hours renewing acquaintances.

Mr and Mrs E. Russell are leaving Paeroa to-morrow for Wellington, where they join the s.s. Corinthic for England.

Mr H. H. Bray, who for 16% years has been associated with dairying in South Auckland,, and latterly has been secretary of Milk Foods, Ltd., has resigned his position with the N.Z.C.D.: Co., and left last week foAustralia. On Thursday a number of his colleagues gathered together at Hamilton, where a convivial evening was spent, and Mr Bray was presented with a pair of binoculars. Mr W. Goodfellow, managing director of the company, made the presentation, and wished Mr Bray every success. Tn responding Mr Bray referred io the difficulties experienced by the company at the time of the amalgamation, and he predicted for the company a very big future.
