Mr and Mrs H. H. Bray leave Auckland by the Makura to-night for a holiday trip to Australia. During the stay of t,he Hon. J.'G. Coates and Mrs Coates in Paeroa they were the guests of Mr and Mi’s, J. F. Montague, Puke Road. - Mr M. J. Harris received a cable from Sydney yesterday tp the effect that his mother was seriously ill. Mr Harris left Paeroa for Auckland this morning, and catches the Makura fol’ Sydney to-night. Mr G. W. Vercoe, president of the Hamilton Racing Club, was an interested visitor at the local racemeeting on Wednesday. He congratulated the local club on the appointments and various improvements effected this year. Mr E. S. Tucker, of Paeroa, left, yesterday morning for Auckland, where he catches the Makura for Sydney, en route to Port Pirie, South Australia. Mr Tucker has accepted an appointment on the research staff of the Broken Hill United Smelters CP„ Ltd,, at their Port Pirie works.
