The menace of wild pigs is one that has been causing the backblock settlers of Taranaki great concern for some years, especially during the lambing season (states the “Daily News”). During last session Mr R. Masters, M.P., was very active in urging the Government to undertake suppressive measui-es, and during the short session again brought the ma:ter before the Department concerned. He has now been informed that the Department of Lands, Forestry, andAgriculture proposes- to take action in his/district, and arrangements are in train to secure hunters for the destruction of pigs.
