ENTERTAINMENTS.

CENTRAL THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. BEAR CAT. To-night’s attractions include “ Bear Cat,” starring Hoot Gibson. In this picture “ Hooft ” is seen at his best. A Century comedy is also on the programme. " i TO-MORROW NIGHT. THE BEST OF LUCK. To-morrow night will be presented ‘‘The Best of Luck,” featuring Jack Holt. The story revolves about a chest of jewels, once the property ol a Spanish Queen, which lies at the bottom of the sea in a wrecked galleon. Leslie Macleod, a beautiful and daring Scottish girl, is pitted against General Lanzana, a rich and unscrupulous Spaniard, who seeks to possess not only the lost treasure but Leslie herself. WHAT WOMEN LOVE. “ What Women Love,” which is an additional attraction for to-morrow night, is a rare combination of breath catching drama and delightful comedy. It features Annette Kellerman, the world-famed swimming beaujty, in a modern society story that is rife with action and thrilling incident.

MONDAY NIGHT.

THE RUBAIYAT OF OMAR KHAYYAM. The above is. to be presented on Monday. The power of this picture is so great, its very beautiy-- seems so .deep-rooted on the screen, that there will be many who, upon a single viewing, may not catch its entiispirit; and yet, for those, there is a love theme, built with romance, action. and suspense. The scenes of the Rubaiyat are laid in Persia, in the time of Omar, the tent-maker, the philosopher and poet of. Life. One passage of the film, where Omar, in a tavern, expounds upon his /’philosophy of “Whence we camo and “Whence we go . . . »” gi ves a remarkably artistic conception of the mystery of life, of the ascent of the spirit through space t.o Heaven, ajid of the descent ,to Hell. While may prove difficult for the mind m grasp the tremendous meaning of even the thought this sequence strives to convey, still, the beauty of its presentation cannot help but hold the onlooker. ( TROOPER O’NEIL. In addition to “Omar Khayyam ’ will be shown a William Fox masterpiece, “Trooper O’Neil,” starring Charles Jones. In this picture the Canadian Northwest Mounted Police is represented with exceptional fidelity, to which the artistic photography adds not a little. Standing out from the well-drawn background,, in bold relief, is a swirl of stirring events that whip the action 'to a high pitch. Through it all, delicately moulded, is a love interest that is most appealing and convincing.
