KEREPEEHL . MAORI' COMPANY. The well-known T.P.M. Maori Company held a. performance at Kerepeehi on Thursday, the local hall being strained .to its fullest capacity, and the intense interest and enthusiasm displayed by the audience as each item , was presented goes to show that our Maori brethren can stage a programme of sustained interest right through, unique and original in its treatment, and well worthy of patronage. Unfortunately the stage room was too limited to givelhem justice, but as the curtain rose in the scene illustrative .of the Waikato’s fariious canoe “Tainui” it could be seen that the audience was in for something out of the common. This was followed in rapid succession by a haka, poi dances, and songs, the being beautifully executed in full Native costume, which added great interest to the scenes, the gorgeous Maori costume of the Princess being greatly admired. To comment on any special item would be invidious, as all the items had their own special interest, holding the audience enthralled right to the finish. This company deserves success on its tour.
