COMMERCIAL -e HAMILTON STOCK SALE. z The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports :— At Hamilton on Tuesday we had a full yarding of all classes of stock, and cleared the bulk of the offering. Sheep and pigs were in brisk demand, but cattle in general were easier. The beef penned was mostly of plain quality, and competition lacked spirit. Steers made to £6 17s 6d for medium weights;' cows to £6 7s, medium weights £4 to £5 ss, lighter weights £3"to £3 15s ; very forward steers sold from £5 12s 6d to £6 2s. Store cattle were duller than at recent sales, though sellers showed a disposition to sell. Stare steers £4 6s to £5 9s; 2year steers £3 to £3 17s ; store cows 30s; bulls to £4. Competition for sheep was lively throughout, recent values being fully maintained. Not many fats were penned. Wethers sold to 31s 6d for medium quality: lambs 24s 6d to 30s; a line of verjgood rape lambs to 225, others from 18s 6d. A draft of f.m. ewes frbin West Coast rather low in condition sold under strong competition at 255. Pigs were again penned in large numbers, heavy baconers and good porkers easily maintaining the rates of late markets,, while slips .and weahers showed a slight incline. An extra good pen of heavy baconers made £3 16s, others £3 8s to £3 14s ; medium £2 18s to £3 ss, lighter and unfinished £2 10s to £2 15s ; good porkers .£2 8s to £2 15s, medium £2 4s to £2 7s, sJmall and unfinished 36s to £2 2s ; slips 20s to 23s 6d, small 16s to 19s; best weaners lip to 13 s, others 8s to 10s.
