NEW ZEALAND MEAT. « THE KILLING OF LAMBS. PRODUCERS’ ADVICE. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board passed the following resolutino at its last meeting:-— “That, in the opinion of: the Board it is against the best interests of the producers and the Dominion to kill many of the light lambs now being killed. There is a mucli greater percentage of light lambs going on to the English market than usual. This is more particularly the case with Australia, and with the abundance oi feed in the Dominion and the prospects of the market for prime lambs the Board is of opinion that producers should make every lamb as prime as possible. The Board appeals to the producers of the Dominion to assist them in their desire to improve the standard of New Zealand Meat.” On entering Rolleston the railway traveller notices a small, dilapidated shack, in the front, of which a large signboard states: “Wanted, a wife.” The advertisement (says the Ashburton Guardian) is lacking somewhat in artistic design, and the signwriters’' name appears to have been omitted , but the traveller readily forgives these defects in view of the advertiser’s evident sincerity.- Whether the official railway traffic returns will show a decided increase in the number of feminine visitors to Rolleston cannot yet be stated.
