N.Z. DAIRY COMPANY.

WHAREPOA FACTORY. MEETING OF SUPPLIERS. A well-attended meeting of suppliers of the Wharepoa cheese factory was held on Monday evening, Mir. F. B. Burkhardt presiding. The N.Z. Dairy Co. was represented by Messrs G. Buchanan and E. W. Hale (directors), A. J. Sinclair (assistant manager), W. C. Dixon (factory superintendent), and A. J. Heighway (who attended on behalf of the management). A report was submitted showing that, although the fire had been extremely unfortunate for the suppliers in the Whafl’eppa district cheese group the results could easily have been far more unsatisfactory. It was stated tliat should they decide to erect another cheese factory, that could be done with the funds available from the insurance company without an increase in the liability of any kind beyond that attaching to the present shareholders. Questions were asked as to what the position would be if .the suppliers decided to go on with home separation or erected a cream and casein factory. Good prospects foir casein evidently appealed to some of the suppliers, and a resolution was passed, on the motion olf Mi Brunton, that the meeting adjourn for a fortnight or three weeks before a final decision was made. The management promised to obtain complete data as to the cost of a casein station, etc. In moving a vote of thanks to the management Mr Harris, of Wharepoa, stressed the importance of suppliers remaining loyal to the company. He was very pleased, he said, to observe the general feeling of loyalty in the district, as any other sentiments would only tend to weaken their own organisation. The motion was carried, and .the I meeting adjourned.
