It is reported that cattle ticks have made their appearance on a f.arm at Oaonui, Taranaki. The secretary of a football club at Te Karaka has been fined £so' for failing to make a return of the amusement tax collected at a concert. An effort will be made in the near future to connect up the Maramarua and the Waitakaruru Telephone Associations’ systems. This will enable the twenty-five members of the Maramarua Association to communicate with the Hauraki Plains 1 through the Waitakaruru bureau.
