AGRICULTURAL CLASSES.

SCHOOL AT RUAKURA. EDUCATION OF TEACHERS. The Auckland Education Board has been granted permission by the Department of Agriculture to hold a teachars’ farm school at the Ruakura Government Farm of Instruction from January 29 to February 3. About 70 teachers (including 18 women) Will attend. A comprehensive series of lectures and demonstrations will be carried out on farm metihods and practices, and instruction will also be given m apiary work. The teachers will be quartered in the residen-. tial blocks lately used by the Repatriation Board. The Education Board recently brought before the notice of Dr. Reakes,. Director-General of Agriculture, .the desirability of a “refresher" course for instructors in agriculture, being held at Ruakura Government Farm, and Dr. Reakes gave the necessary authority for the course to be . arranged. This course, the first of its kind in New Zealand, will be held at Ruakura i from February 5 to 9, and will be at-, tended by about 39 persons, including inspectors in agriculture from the Department of Agriculture, from the Hawke's Bay, Wanganui, Taranaki, and Auckland Education Boards, and teachers of agriculture in secondary - sdhoOls. The course will be under the control of Mr A- W. Green, manager of Ruakura.
