PAEROA BOROUGH COUNCIL. TOWN CLERK & TREASURER. Applications, closing at 4.30 p.m. on January; 9, 1923, are invited for the position of Town Clerk and Treasurer to the Paeroa Borough Council, at a salary of £250 per annum. Applicants to state age and experience, and must enclose copies of recent testimonials, and address applications to the under; signed marked “Town Clerkship.” The successful applicant must be prepared to take up his duties within two weeks of the date of his appointment. SAY, of the Premier Butchery, wishes to apologise to his many customers for the delay in not being able to distribute his Christmas wall calendars. The fault is decidedly not Mr Say’s, however, as the calendars were ordered for delivery to him in Paeroa at the end of November, but unfortunately the firm with whom he placed his order, instead of shipping them in the steamer coming direct to New Zealand, sent them to Sydney, and the delay has been caused in transhipment. However, the calendars are expected to arrive here towards the end of the month, when Mr Say will have pleasure in then distributing them to his customers. CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS. ALL Shops will close for the half-holiday on WEDNESDAY, and the late night will be observed on SATURDAY. The holidays to be observed will be 25th, 26th, and 27th December, reopening on Thursday morning the 28th. The following week the late night will be observed on Saturday, December 30, and the New Year holidays will be January 1 and 2, reopening on January 3, 1923. J. COUPER, Business Men’s Association.
