A Christchurch race-goer who came down to the Timaru meeting last week managed to get eptangled in a very striking example of railway red tape management (states the Post).The train which goes to the Washdyke racecourse leaves tihe main line at Washdyke, and has to go for about a quarter of a mile along the Fairlie line to get to the epurse. The had bought a ticket at Timaru. Arrived at Washdyke, he found that in order to get to the course he had to buy another ticket. No tickets were issued for the racecourse, so he ■had to take a ticket to the nearest station, Levels, despite the fact that the train only went as far .as the racecourse. This cost him Is Bd.
