HIKUTAIA SPORTS CLUB.
THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Hikutaia Sports Club was held last Saturday. The following were present: Messrs Alf. Alley, W. Welch, J. Bailley, W. K.' Morrison, B. McSweeney, J. Hitchcock, P. Corbett, J. Miller, Geo. Avery, I. M. Robinson, J. McKenzie, J. Kelly, R. Samson, K. Alley, C. Meredith, J. R. Noonan, D. Welch, and M. Roglich. Mr Alf Alley was elected to the chair. Last year’s chairman, Mr I. M. Robinson,. mentioned that the club was without the services of a secretary, Mr W. J. Norton having left the district. He expressed his regret, as Mr Norton's services were of untold assistance in spprting matters, which remai ks were fully endorsed by all members present, Mr I. M. Robinson was unanimously elected secretary, and after reading the minutes of the last meeting and declaring the club’s balance, which stands at £lo'6 9s Bd, the full sports programme was recommended and adopted. Tire annual sports meeting was fixed to take place, on January : 29 (Anniversary Day), a splendid programme being billed, over £l6O in prize moneys' for competition for chopping and running events. Mr P. Corbett donated the club £lO, and the gfft ,was acknowledged by the members present with kind feeling to the donor. The secretary was instructed to again approach the Railway Department for ,a special train service to the Thames at 6 p.ih.
