HAURAKI PLAINS COUNCIL, THE CLERK’S REPORT. The Hauraki Plains County clerk (Mr E. Walton) reported to the Coun-. cil meeting on Monday as follows: — The riding balances are as follows: Waitakaruru , credit balance, £328 15s 7d ; Tui’ua, debit balance, £305 Is; Patetohga, debit balance, £126 3s 8d; Netherton, debit ballance, £66 15s 4d ; Tahuna, debit balance, £229 0s Bd. Debit in County Fund, being general rate anticipated, £397 5s Id.
The balances in the loan accounts on November 30, 1922, were: Netherton roads loan, £lB4B 15s 1 ; Tahuna roads loan, £640 15s 7d ; Kopu ferry approach roads loan, £328 9s lid; Waitakaruru roads lo.an, £1 Is sd: Puriri ferry and approach roads loan, £404 12s lOd; Ngataipua East road loan, £3OO ; housing loans, £1495 6s. The receipts for the month of November included: General rate, £531 18s 5d ; hospital rate, £23-5 17s ; antecedent liability special i;ate, £79 8s 3d ; Orchard bridge special rate, £7 19s 7d ; Kopu fej’ry special rate, £l2 4s 2d; Puriri ferry and approach roads special rate, £29 15s 10d ; Kopu ferry approach roads special rate, £ll 16s Id; Waitakaruru roads special rate, £lO 17s lOd ; Waihou bridge special rate, £ll 5s 3d; Tahuna roads special rate, £l2 5s 9d; Netherton roads special rate, £2B 4s 5d ; Wharepoa feijry rent, £8 6s 6d; Thames Borough Council share Mr Powell’s report, £lB4 2s 9d; r.ate suspense account, £l9. Total, £1213 18s 6d. The credit balance as per, 'cash book of the County Fund account on November 30 was £ll7B 2s Bd. GENERAL RATE STATEMENT. The general rate statement as at November, 30, 1922, gave the following figures; Turua Riding.—l92l-22 arrears at March 31, 1922, £823 7s 6d ; struck, 1922-23, £1587 15s 6d ; total, £2411 3s. Of the rates collected the airrears amounted to £579 19s ; 1922-123 rates, £373 9s 4d; total collected, £953 8s- 4d. The total expenditure was £1258 9s 4d-
Waitakaruru Riding.—t92li22 arrears at March 31, 1922, £lOO9 5s 2d ; struck, 1922-23,, £1172 16s 5d ; total, £2182 Is 7d. Of the rates collected the arrears amounted to £917 Os 3d ; 1922-23 rates, £176 Ils 7d ; total col- . £1093 Ils lOd. The total expenditure was £763 16s 3d.
P.atetonga Riding.—l92l.-22 arrears at Maircli 31, 1922, £566 4s 3d ; struck, 1922-23, £734 3s 4d; total, £l3OO Is _7d. Of the rates collected the arrears amounted to £326 Ils 2d; 1922-23 rates, £175 Ils 4d; total collected, £502 2s 6d. The total expenditure was £628 6s 2d.
Nethertou Riding.—l92l-22 anrears at March 31, 1222, £1295 4s 3d; struck, 1922-23, £2173; total, £3468 4s 3d. Of the rates collected the arrears amounted to £124 16s 5d ; 192223 rates, £342 19s 8d; total collected, £1467 16s Id. Total expenditure, £1534 Ils sd.
Talhuna Riding.—l92l-22 aifl’eartef at March 31, 1922, £794 19s 5d ; struck, 1922-23, £1165 ; total, £1959 19s sd. Of the rates collected the arrears amounted to £384 3s 3d; 1922-23 rates, £ll7 3s 4d ; total collected, £5Ol 6s 7d. Total expenditure, f. 730 1 7s 3d.
