PROTOSED PIPIROA FERRY. "ESTIMATES OF COST?' < Estimating the cost of a proposed ferry over the'Piako River at Pipiroa the County engineer (Mr J. Higgins) reported to the Hauraki Plains County Council at its meeting on Monday as follows : "I have examined the site at Pipiroa, and I estimate the cost for carrying out the proposed work as follows: Constructing pontoon — £575 Full equipment — — 200' Preparing approaches! (formation) — — 35 Fascining — — — 40’ 10 Fencing — — 16 10 200 e. yds. metal at I's/6 155 £1022 0 Contingencies 51 2 Total £1073 2 “ As a certain amount ofl attention would have tp be given to approaches for the first few months I estimate the cost for completing the ferJy and maintaining the road for three months £1100.”
