ENTERTAINMENTS.
CENTRAL THEATRE PICTURES TO-NIGHT. “LES MISERABLES.” "Les Miserables,” the most melodramatic of all Victor Hugo’s melodramas,., has been pictuvised by William Fox with William Farnum playing the role pf the immortal. Jean Valjean, and will be shown to-'night. " Les Miserables ” is an adequate representation of the great book,” "and is a fine example of the justice the motion picture can render the classics. The Jean Valjean of William Farnum is a wonderful creative •ffort. The ability of William Farnum as an actor of dramatic and heroic roles is given more scope, in this picture than perhaps in any other in which he has appeared, and the star made the best pf his opportunity.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
"STOP THIEF.”
“Sitop Thief,” the Goldwyn picture which is the attraction for Wednesday night, is said to be one of- the best comedy vehicles ever interpreted by Tom Moore. As a legitimate stage offering “Stop Thief” made record runs and delighted’ audiences whereever it was presented. As a'picture it has double its interest, and is a progression of ridiculous incidents, from start to finish.
THURSDAY NIGHT.
“WAY DOWN EAST.”
There is' no doubt about the records held by “Way Down East” the world over. Its six months’ season at enormous prices in London has',again been indefinitely extended, and in some American cities of quite small size it has run two months. This famous picture, is to be screened in Paeroa on Thursday next, both, in the afternoon and evening.
