HAMILTON STOCK SALE. Tne Farmers’ Co-Operative Auctioneering Co. reports:— At Hamilton on Tuesday, the 14th, we had an average yarding of cattle and pigs, but the sheep pens were empty. Fat cattle opened very dull, but considerably improved as the sale progressed, fat cows selling exceptionally well. Steers, medium weights, m.ade from £6 to £7 12s 6d, light-weigts £4 13s to £5 9s ; fat cows from £6 5s to £7 10's, Ijght-weights from £3 15s to £5 10s. Store cows at late rates, making from £1 is to £1 12s 6d. Young cattle were penned in fair quantity, but the quality on the whole was inferior. Bidding on empty dairy heiflers seemed somewhat brisker, and everything offered changed hands. Shorthorn heifers, 12 to 15 months’, brought £2 5s to £3 ss; small Jersey and Holstein cross £3 3s. A number of mixed and small lots sold at late values. A fair number of pigs were penned, and prices for medium to heavy baconers were well in advance pif those received last week, while weaners and slips were slightly easier. Heavy baconers £3 10s to £3 15s, medium £2 18s to £3 6s; good porkers to light baconers £2 7s to £2 15s medium porkers £2 to £2 ss, light and unfinished 30s to 37s ; slips £1 Is to 255.
