DISTRICT NEWS.
« NGATEA. THE HALL COMMITTEE. A special meeting of the Ngatea Public Hall Committee was held on Wednesday e'vening, when the following were present: Messrs G. T. Davidson (chairman), W. G. Hayward, W. McDuff, W. J. Clare, S, Phillips, D. A. Vincent, R. E. Jamieson, and C. G. Mellor (secretary). The meeting was called to discuss matters in connection with the h.all piano, but owing to the non-atetnd'-ance or Mr HaOJyburton Johnstone the matter was deferred to a? later meeting.
Mr E. Walton attended by request and submitted the rules he had drawn up to enable the committee to become an incorporated body. PROPOSED SPORTS.
Mr D. A- Vincent submitted a proposal to the meeting to hold a sports gathering on January 29 in aid of the 'hall funds. The matter was discussed, and it was considered that, if properly organised, it would benefit the hall, funds considerably. It was left to Mr Vincent to form a committee to conduct the sports. THE RECENT BAZAAR.
It. was reported that the takings at the recent bazaar amounted to over £l4O.
The hall committee’s sympathy was etxended to Mrs Potter, secretary of the bazaar committee, in her illness.
