One man of Ngatea was told tne day after the debate on the Kirikiri birdge proposals that the vote had gone against the bridge. It is no, known whether the man believed that the bridge was consequently "squashed,” but he appeared to be much relieved when it was pointed out that it was "only another of those debates.”
