Miss M. A. English, of Wanganui, and late of Lynton Hospital, Morrinsville, has been appointed district, nurse at Patetonga.

Superintendent Henry, in charge of the Auckland province, paid an official visit to Paeroa district yesterday. Some much-needed alterations at the police station and quarters were brought under his notice while here.

We regret to record the death: of Audrey, the only daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Short, of Paeroa, who passed away at an early hour this morning-, at the age of 12 months. Much sympathy is extended to the bereaveu parents in their sad loss.
