FASHION AND FICTION.
CURRENT ISSUES. We have to acknowledge the current issues of tihe following magazines and fashion journals: Premier. —This number for September is an enlarged summer number, and contains a long list of good stories. “A Debt at Sea,” by Bill Adams, is a particularly good tale of sea life. C. J. and Annie C. Tibbits relate a true mystery story, “The Haunting Shadow.’’ “Ambition” is a complete long romance by Andrew Soutar. Other authors include Roland Pertwee, Gladys St. John-Low, and C. Patrick Thompson.
Violet.—The proprietors of this new magazine have given us in this, their second number, a dozen stories- and a splendid serial by Lloyd Williams, “The Rihcest Girl at St. Gabriels.” “Money is not Everything,” by W. E. Groves ; “Captive Maid,” a stirring .highwayman tale, by Agatha Murray : “Reformation of Jacque,” a prairie love story, by Crighton Miln, and “Zolla—Star of the Circus,” are amongst this splendid collection pt new stories.
Weldon’s Children’s Fashions. —The October number of Weldor's Bazaar of Children's Fashions is full of helpful ideas that will same time and mohey. Every mother should buy this number, with gratis patterns enclosed of five dainty garments, which include two simple dresses and a dress and coat, 10 to 12 years, a boy s shirt. 2 to 4 year, and girl’s combinations, 4-tp 6 years, and the most simple and straightforward directions are given for cutting out and making up these designs.
