For about a year the Kerepeehi Soprts Club has been endeavouring to find trace of one of the club’s‘responsible officers, who, it was alleged,, had left the district without giving a proper statement .of accounts, it being impossible to ascertain what moneys were- in hand or owing. This week the club received £35, as the credit balance for the year 1921. The books and papers belonging to the club are in the hands p£| a firm of solicitors.
Last year the dub -showed a credit on the year’s working, and with the additional £35. the. finances should be in a very sound position. HALL SITE. Great enthusiasm is being shown in tennis at Kerepeehi this season, and with additional lady players.it is possible .that the club will challenge for the Laidlaw Cup this season. The club did not put in a, challenge last, season because of the lack of lady players.
Nothing has yet been definitely decided regarding the official opening oft the iocal season, apd though it may eventuate shortly it is probable that the club nfay wait until the pew clay court is completed before making a move in this direction.
