When a chairman of a. local body confesses that he is ashamed to admit he is a member of a body which controls certain roads, the roads in question must be in a very bad state indeed. Such was the case at the Thames County Council meeting on Wednesday, when the chairman (Mr H-. Lowe) said that when he saw the state of some of the roads in the Thames County he was ashamed tp admit that he was on the council, let alone being its chairman.
