SCHOOL EXAMINATIONS.
FIXTURES AT PAEROA. The intermediate examinations will be held at Paeroa from November 22 to 29. and the Junior National Scholarship examinations on Novem her 30 and December 1. There will be 25 candidates for the former examination and 17 for the latter. These examinations will be conducted at the Paeroa District High School under outside supervision. This .will be the first year that these examinations have been held in Paeroa. In previous years it. has been necessary for parents to send their children either to Thames or Waihi and apart from the fact that there were expenses for boarding and lodging (which otfen extended ro nearly a week), and many other incidental expenses, the children were away from home and living under strange conditions, and frequently were known not to have done themselves justice in the examination room. The arrangements for holding the examination in Paeroa this year "is certainly a forward movement, and the headmaster. Mr G. H. Taylbr, and h's staff are tp be congratulated on the initiative shown by them in the matter.
