The Dargaville Borough Council has accepted a tender of £8223 for the erection of municipal chambers and library. This week’s issue of the “N.ZSporting and Dramatic Review" abounds in. illustrations of an especially attractive nature. The titanic struggle between the twp famous champions Beauford and Gloaming, in Sydney, is depicted with graphic realism and occupies pride of position, while a. parade of the two-year-olds at Ellerslie in view pf the approaching season will be of deep interest. The publication might alsp be called a football aditibn de luxe, pictorial prominence being given to the New South. Wales v. Auckland League match, while team photographs appear of touring clubs representing Wanganui, Marlborough. Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, Petone, Poneke, and Canterbury. Hockey is covered in snapshots at the Australia v. Wellington and officers of Philomel and Veronica v. Auckland Ladies’ Team,- In the overseas section are striking scenes at Cowes Regatta, Georges Carpentier in heroic rescue, National Rifle Association’s meeting at Bisley, snapshots at Goodwood, and numerous others of .topical note, while the stage and screen form another important feature of a popular journal. In order to cbpe with the enormous number of illustrations to hand it has been fund necessary to put oh an extra four pages. The paper is on sale at all newsagents.
