A special auction sale of drapery, clothing, jewellery, etc., is to be hiehl on Friday and Saturday next at Mr B. Stansfield’s auction mart. The sale will be conducted by Mr Victor on behalf of an Auckland firm. Petitions were recently circulating on the Hauraki Plains tp urge the Minister of Public Works to authorise the completion of roads to enable a mail service to be run between the Plains and Pokeno. Mir T. W. Rhodes M.P., advised that a petition signed by 98 Ngatea residents has reached him and he will give it every support.
